Do We Really Have To Say Goodbye

To BLOG or not to BLOG… What’s the question? I don’t even know what day it is!!! 😛 Oh boy. So much is happening in the world right now (not like “nothing” was happening in the world before). It can get so overwhelming. But I have tried to not let everything get me down. And have attempted to remain creative. One outlet of creativity has been the writing and subsequent casting of a new short film titled DO WE REALLY HAVE TO SAY GOODBYE. 

DWRHTSG is an LGBT+ drama with a horror twist. The story is about Ryan and Jacob, who have been together for 4 years. They had planned to get married in the summer of 2020. Then a pandemic hit. And Jacob got sick. To make matters worse, because of the nature of the virus, Ryan was not allowed to visit Jacob in the hospital. Nor was he there when Jacob died. But before his passing, Jacob had recorded a message on his phone for Ryan. Now, Ryan has travelled to their favorite beach to watch the video message and to say goodbye… even though going outside places Ryan in immediate, physical danger.

I’m very excited about this project. The cast is amazing! Newcomer Noah Brown is RYAN. Jamal Douglas (“The Quiet Room”) is JACOB. And cult actress Lynn Lowry (“Shivers”, “The Crazies”, “Cat People”) is JULIANNE. Shooting is scheduled for late July (barring the destruction of the world). And will premiere on the streaming service DEKKOO. 🙂
